Excellent, rich taste of fall. Use any good variety of cooking apples as long cooking time may make other varieties become mushy. Pie is mile high when done.
RECIPE INGREDIENTS
1 pie crust (deep dish) prebaked for 15 min
10 apples (Granny Smith or firm variety)
3 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1 cup sour cream
1 Tbsp vanilla
1/4 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
approx 3 to 4 Tbsp butter
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Peel and thinly slice apples into large bowl. Mix eggs, sugar, flour, sour cream and vanilla together and pour over apples, stir to coat apple slices well.

Spoon into pre-baked pie shell. Place filled shell on cookie sheet as filling will spill over. Bake for 1 hour. Sauce should be custard like when done.

Make streussel topping by mixing flour and brown sugar together and then cut in butter in pieces till mixed. Pat over top of pie and bake for an additional 15 min. Remove to a rack to cool.
