Chili preferences vary from thin & mild to thick & spicy. This recipe is a nice middle ground - fairly thick with a great taste. Everyone I serve it to loves it.
RECIPE INGREDIENTS
1 pound bulk mild sausage
1 pound ground chuck
2 medium onions, chopped
1/2 medium green pepper, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 (28 oz) can diced tomatoes, including juice
2 (16 oz) cans red kidney beans, drained & rinsed
1 tbsp chili powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1 cup water
DIRECTIONS
Cook sausage, beef, onions, green pepper, and garlic in a large soup pot until meat is browned and vegetables are tender; drain. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer about 1 hour or put in crock pot on low for 4 hours.
