Almond Crunch Bars

A delicious bar that looks pretty, too.
RECIPE INGREDIENTS
1-1-1/2 C. toasted sliced or slivered almonds
1 C. butter
1/2 C. sugar
1/2 C. brown sugar
1 egg yolk
1 t. vanilla
2 C. cake flour
8-9 oz. milk chocolate bar or chocolate chips
DIRECTIONS
Toast sliced almonds in a 350 degree oven for 10 min.


If using slivered almonds, toast for 5 min.


Cream butter, sugar, and brown sugar.


Beat in egg yolk and vanilla.


Add flour.


Spread evenly in a 10X15 pan.


Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.


Melt chocolate in double boiler or microwave.


Spread on warm bars.


Sprinkle almonds over warm chocolate.


Cut while warm.
