This is one of the best company dishes going, you will be asked for the receipt every time you serve it to company. It is not difficult receipt, but it is time consuming, must plan ahead on this one.
2 cups Sour Cream
1 envelop dry Onion Soup Mix
2 – 3 to 4 pound Frying Chickens, cut up
1 cup water
2 cups dry white wine (prefer Glen Ellen Chardonnay)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried basil crushed
2 cloves garlic, smashed
1 cup rice, uncooked
One 10-1/2 ounce can condensed Cream of Mushroom soup
Combine sour cream, dry onion soup mix and chill.

Place the chicken, cut up, in a Dutch oven. Add water, dry white wine, salt, dash pepper, garlic and basil. Cover and cook over-low heat until tender, about one and a half hours.

Mean while, cook the rice and set aside.

Remove chicken from broth, cool, debone and cut into large pieces.

Degrease the broth. Then cook liquid in Dutch oven until reduced to 1-1/2 cups. Then blend in the Cream of Mushroom soup. Stir in sour cream mixture, rice and chicken. Cook and stir just until heated. So not boil!

Serve with frozen baby peas, green salad and hot bread.
