Beer Battered Shrimp

These shrimp are additive. They're great on their own or when making shrimp po-boy sandwiches.
RECIPE INGREDIENTS
1 cup self raising flour
1 cup beer
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and devained with the tails left on
oil for deep frying
salt
DIRECTIONS
Heat oil in a dutch oven over high heat. While the oil is heating combine the beer and self raising flour, mix until smooth. When oil reaches a temperature of 375 degrees F dip the shrimp into the flour mixture and drop into hot oil. Cook for 2 minutes or until the shrimp turn golden brown. Drain shrimp on paper towels to remove excess oil and season with salt. Serve hot with your favorite cocktail or tarter sauce.
