Buttermilk Vanilla Milkshake

The Diner is the best place for breakfast in Yountville, CA. They gave us the recipe for their famous buttermilk milkshake.


  • 2 large scoops (1 cup) premium vanilla ice cream
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk or whole milk (buttermilk gives the shake a cheesecake flavor)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup crushed ice, optional
  • Whipped cream, for garnish, optional
  • Mint leaf, for garnish, optional


In a blender, combine the ice cream, buttermilk or milk and vanilla

extract. For a lighter texture add the crushed ice. Blend until smooth and creamy.

Pour the mixture into a tall glass and garnish with whipped cream and a

mint leaf.
