Chili Barbecue Wet Basting Sauce

Yield:  Makes 3 cups
RECIPE INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 medium onion, peeled and chopped
2 cloves garlic, peeled and finely minced
20 ounces canned tomatoes
Dash tabasco sauce
3 tablespoons chili powder
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
DIRECTIONS
Heat 2 tablespoons of the oil in a saucepan.


Add the onion and sauté until browned, about 5 minutes.


Add the garlic, tomatoes, Tabasco, chili powder, and remaining oil.


Bring to a boil and cook over low heat for 15 minutes. Add the vinegar and cook for 10 minutes more. Use as a basting sauce.


Serving Size = 2 tablespoons
