Coconut Apple Cake

This is my mom's recipe. She's been making it for Thanksgiving as long as I can remember. It's so good and easy. I hope ya'll like it.
RECIPE INGREDIENTS
1 white cake mix
1 bag of coconut
1 large apple ,peeled and cored, thin slices
white buttercream (or your choice) frosting for two 9 inch layers
DIRECTIONS
Make cake according to directions on box for two 9 inch layers.


After cake layers have cooled, frost top of first layer with about 1 cup frosting. You want it thick.


Layer apple slices on frosting and press in.


Top with second layer and frost cake.


Press coconut all over cake.


Let set a day before serving so apple flavor really soaks in. I don't recommend putting coconut between layers, it doesn't sit right and it slides.
