Corned Beef

RECIPE INGREDIENTS
1 Cup Brown Sugar
2 Cups Pickeling salt
1 gal. water
2 to 3 lb. beef (I like to use pot roasts)
1 Med onion
2 small carott
2 whole cloves
DIRECTIONS
Heat water to disolve water and sugar and let cool.


Add beef to brine and keep cool 6 to 7 days. (You might have to put a dish on the meat to keep it submerged.) Rotate every other day.


Cooking.. Remove beef from brine and rinse. Cook in fresh water with cloves stuck in onion and peeled carotts. Approx. 2 hours. Discard brine,rinse with clean water and continue to cook 2 hours in fresh water. Add turnip, carotts, cabbage, onions and potatoes.
