Flat Iron Steak Martini
- 1 flat iron steak (10 ounces)
- 1/4 cup dry vermouth
- 1/4 cup sweet vermouth
- 1/2 teaspoon toasted juniper berries
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne
- 1 tablespoon Spanish olives
- 1 tablespoon pickled olives
- 1/2 ounce blue cheese, crumbled
- Commercial breadsticks, for garnish
Combine the dry and sweet vermouth, add the beef; marinate 6 hours to overnight.
Combine the toasted juniper berries, salt and cayenne. Season the marinated beef with the juniper berry mixture. Grill to medium-rare, remove from the heat and allow the beef to rest 5 minutes. Slice across the grain and place in a martini glass. Top with the olives, onions and blue cheese. Garnish with breadsticks for a stir-stick look.
