My grandma has made this at every holiday since I was a little girl, now I make it for my friends and they ALL BEG me for the recipe. As long as you keep the basics of cheese pot and mayo you can add your own stuff. I've experimented with using grilled po
8-10 med potatoes peeled
1 ham steak cubed
1/2 lb colby cheese block (cubed)
1 Med Onion diced
1 C. Miracle Whip (No Substitutions it won't come out right)
Chopped green olives for garnish
1 t. sea salt
Fill a pot 1/2 way with cold water, sea salt, and potatoes (cut

in half lengthwise), turn the burner to med-high heat until

boiling, set timer for 20 minutes and preheat oven to

325 degrees.

While potatoes are boiling cube ham and cheese

and dice onion.

When potatoes are done strain and return

to pot using a knife cut them up into pieces (Mine usually

fall apart just make sure they are in pieces not mashed

or whole) then stir in ham, onion, cheese, and Miracle Whip

(Stir WELL esp cheese). Put in a casserole dish (9x13 or

larger) smooth out and add olive slices to the top, bake for

1hr (I turn mine up to 350 degrees for the last 20 minutes

to brown the top)It might look a little greasy at first coming

out of the oven but as it cools the oils (from the cheese)

will re-absorb.
