When I was eight years old, my great-grandma taught me to make her special creamed corn. It's simple and so delicious you won't ever buy that canned stuff again! Grandma was very firm about using only fresh butter, cream, corn and ONLY white pepper.
RECIPE INGREDIENTS
2 cups cooked kernel corn
(Use frozen if you must, but not canned)
2 cups rich milk or cream
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
white pepper
salt
DIRECTIONS
When I was eight years old, my great-grandma taught me to make her special creamed corn. It's simple and so delicious you won't ever buy that canned stuff again!

Gently warm the cream.

Make a roux of the butter and flour. Make sure you don't let it brown.

Mix in the cream and cook gently, stirring constantly, until it thickens.

Taste and season with salt and pepper.

Fold in the corn and let it heat through.

Enjoy the taste of my Great-Grandma's kitchen. Every bite brings her back to me.
