Next time you're having grilled sausages for dinner throw a couple extra on the barbie and make this gutsy sausage sandwich for lunch.
- 2 slices light or dark rye bread
- 1 tablespoon spicy brown mustard
- 1 grilled bratwurst, bockwurst or Italian sausage
- 1/3 cup sauerkraut, drained
Lightly toast the slices of bread. Spread the mustard on the bottom slice. Cut the sausage in half lengthwise and lay on the bottom slice of bread. Scatter the sauerkraut over top. Cover with the other slice of bread. Cut sandwich in half and wrap ready for the lunch box. Refrigerate until ready to eat.
