- Double Bonus
Not as sweet as some baked beans, these mustardy ones go well with all sorts of pork dishes. Pinto or black beans can be substituted for the white.
- Six 15-ounce cans small white beans, drained
- 1 1/2 cups chopped yellow onion
- 1 1/4 cups diced lean smoky ham
- 1 cup canned reduced-sodium chicken broth
- 3/4 cup honey mustard
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons Tabasco sauce
- 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
- 3/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Position a rack in the middle of the oven and preheat to 350 degrees F. Stir all ingredients in large bowl. Spoon the mixture into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish. Bake until the mixture bubbles and the liquid thickens, about 50 minutes. Serve warm.
