This is an old-timey recipe from rural Alabama. Here in California, we used to grow blackberries in the back yard. I never tried making wine from them, however, until I was over 21.
RECIPE INGREDIENTS
1 quart water
2 quarts blackberry juice
3 pounds sugar
DIRECTIONS
Put the ingredients in a jug and let it stand until fermentation ceases, which will be in about three to four weeks.

Then bottle and seal.

Buy the freshest blackberries you can find and juice them, afterwards straining out the seeds.

I tried leaving the jug in the refrigerator, and you can, too.
