Marinated Honeyed Pork Spareribs

- For Marinade:
- 1 cup plum sauce
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 cup sweet sherry
- 1 cup olive or safflower oil
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- For Spareribs:
- 4 lb pork spareribs
TO MAKE MARINADE: Combine all ingredients, except ribs, in a large shallow dish.
TO PREPARE SPARERIBS: Add the ribs and baste with marinade. Allow to marinate in refrigerator overnight, brushing frequently with marinade.
TO COOK: Barbecue ribs for about 40 minutes on medium heat, basting frequently with marinade and turning during cooking.
