Meat Casserole

I received this recipe from my Mom the year I got married. The recipe was originally given to her by a mom in the "Thursday Nursery Group" I was part of in 1968. I have always enjoyed this dish and now my family enjoys it as well.
12 ounces Egg Noodles
2 pounds ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 8 ounce cans of tomato sauce
1 tsp. oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
1 8 ounce cream cheese, room temperature
1/2 cup sour cream
1 1/2 cups cottage cheese
Cook noodles and drain

Brown meat and drain

Saute onion and green pepper until soft

Add meat to onion and green pepper

Stir in tomato sauce, oregano, garlic powder, salt and pepper and cook about 5 minutes

In a medium bowl, blend softened cream cheese with sour cream and cottage cheese, mix well

Place half of the noodles in a 13 x 9 x 2 pan

carefully spread cheese mixture over noodles

layer the rest of the noodles over cheese

top with meat

Bake at 350 for 20 minutes
