Active Time:  15 Minutes
Total Time:  8 Hours
  40 pieces
A lot people are put off by chicken livers, so this is my alternative to true rumaki.
RECIPE INGREDIENTS
2 cans whole water chestnuts, drained
1 pound bacon, sliced into halves or thirds (depending on length and thickness of the bacon)
Teriyaki sauce
Brown sugar for coating
DIRECTIONS
Empty water chestnuts into a glass bowl. Cover with teriyaki. Cover with plastic wrap and place in fridge for at least 4 hours.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Drain teriyaki.

Assembly:

Roll each water chestnut in brown sugar.

Wrap a piece of bacon around the water chestnut.

Secure with a toothpick.

Bake in glass dish for 20 minutes or until bacon is brown - turning once. Allow to cool slightly and serve. Can also be broiled.
