I Grew Up With This Recipe. My Mother Would Make Large Batches Of This Sauce And Saved What We Would Use And Give Pints Of The Sauce To Friends. I Adapted The Slow Cooker Method In My Adult Years, And Pass On To Friends.
(2 Quarts)
1-28oz. Can Tomato Puree
1-28oz. Bottle Ketchup
1/4 Cup Wine Vinegar
1 Tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
1/4 Cup Sugar
1/4 Cup Butter
1 Green Pepper (Finely Chopped)
1 Onion (Finely Chopped)
1 Tsp. Salt (To Taste)
2 Tsp. Paprika
2 Tsp. Celery Seed
1 Tsp. Dry Mustard (Dissolve In Water)
1/2 Tsp. Pepper (To Taste)
I Use A Food Processor To

Chop Onion And Green Pepper.

Mix All Ingredients And

Simmer In Slow Cooker For 3

To 4 Hours Stirring Occasionally. Makes Two Quarts.

[Another Use] Mix 1/4 Cup Of

Sauce And An 8 Oz Of Your

Favorite Tomato Juice And

Heat In Microwave For A

Savory Cup Of Tomato Soup
