This is a dessert. I got this recipe from my mother, who is a wonderful cook. With the exception of the graham cracker crust to make this recipe , you use just a mixer.
1 1/2-2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/3-1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup  butter or margarine
1-8 oz. pkg. Kraft Cream cheese
1 can condensed milk
1/2 cup lemon juice
1 tsp. vanilla
Any canned pie filling you want on top or none at all.
Mix together the graham cracker crumbs sugar and butter or margarine together until they are crumbly, then pres into the bottom of a 13x9 pan.

Cream the Cream Cheese first then mix in the condensed milk until they are smooth. Then add the lemon juice and the vanilla. You can also add a different extract if you want to. Spread the filling on top of the graham cracker crust.

With the pie filling I usually put on top of the filling, but you can cut the cheesecake , put it on a plate and then put the pie filling on top if you like after the cheesecake chilled if the refrigerator for a couple of hours.

Major disappointment
I'm sure your mother was indeed a wonderful cook, but this recipe as you've written it does NOT work. At all. I followed what you wrote and the crust looked wonderful. When I got done mixing the filling there was almost nothing there, and after putting it in the pan it was a very thin layer, thinner than the crust itself. The mixture also did not set as I was expecting, even after being in the fridge overnight. Please review this recipe for errors so others are not as disappointed as me. Thanks.
