1        package  dry yeast
1/4      cup  warm water
2        cups  flour
1/8      teaspoon  salt
6        tablespoons  butter
6        tablespoons  margarine
1        large  egg -- beaten
6        ounces  cream cheese -- softened

DIRECTIONS
Put yeast in water. Combine flour and salt; cut in the butter and margarine until mixture resembles course crumbs. Add yeast and beaten egg to flour. Mix until blended. Roll out dough a half at a time on a floured surface making 2 rectangles 9 x 13.

Beat the cream cheese and sugar and spread 1/2 the cream cheese on one of the rectangles. Sprinkle with 1/2 the nuts. Starting with long side, roll in a jelly roll fashion. Place seam side down on a lightly greased cookie sheet (or use parchment paper on cookie sheet). Cut roll halfway thru lengthwise, Making a long slash.

Bake at 375 F for 20 - 25 minutes or until light brown. Cool completely before cutting.
