Pumpkin Praline Pecan Pie

The combination of pecans and pumpkin is ideal for a holiday dessert. Easy-to-make and lovely in presentation, this will become your favorite pie recipe for season after season.
(one unbaked 9-inch pie shell with high fluted sides)
1/3 cup chopped pecans
1 cup light brown sugar
2 tablespoons melted, unsalted butter
2 eggs
1 cup minus 2 tablespoons pumpkin
2/3 cup light brown sugar
1 tablespoon flour
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/8 teaspoon ground mace
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup half-and-half cream
Whipping cream
Pecan halves
Keep crust covered until filling is prepared.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees

PRALINE: Mix well chopped pecans, brown sugar and butter.

Spread evenly over bottom of prepared pie crust.

FILLING: Beat 2 eggs well. Add remaining ingredients and mix until just blended.

Pour over praline and bake for 45-50 minutes.

Remove from oven to a cooling rack and let cool to room temperature.

Serve with whipped cream topped with pecan halves.

Serves 6.
