This speedy homemade applesauce is fabulous with potato latkes or as a healthy snack for kids.

ingredients

  • 4 McIntosh apples, peeled and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar, or more to taste (optional)
  • Pinch of cinnamon

directions

Place the apple pieces in a medium microwaveable bowl. Cover and microwave until softened, about 4 minutes. Transfer to a food processor, add the brown sugar, if using, and cinnamon and puree until desired consistency.
