Sauteed Green Beans and Red Bell Peppers with Sesame Seeds

Oriental sesame oil has a wonderful toasted, nutty flavor. A touch of this oil elevates the humble green bean to a very interesting side dish.
6 ounces slender green beans, trimmed
1/2 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon oriental sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds, toasted
Cook green beans in saucepan of boiling salted water until crisp-tender, about 5 minutes. Drain. Transfer to bowl of ice water to cool. Drain well. (Can be prepared 1 day ahead. Wrap in paper towels. Enclose in plastic bag and refrigerate.)

Heat 1/2 teaspoon oil in medium skillet over medium-high heat. Add red bell pepper and saute until crisp-tender, about 3 minutes. Add green beans and saute until heated through. Season to taste with salt. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve.
