My grandma makes this for every Christmas and believe me we look forward to eating it all year lol. I'm not a huge fan of oysters so I pick them out but even just eating the breading alone is really good.
1 c. melted butter
2 c. crushed crackers
1 c. dry bread crumbs
2 pints fresh oysters shucked-reserve liquid (We get them at the seafood counter at Marsh grocery store)
Sea Salt to taste
Light to heavy cream (Add to oyster liquor to make 1 c.)
2 Tbs. butter
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Combine melted butter, crushed crackers,&

bread crumbs. Place 1/2 of the mixture in the bottom

of a buttered 7x11 baking dish. Cover mixture with oysters, sprinkle

wth salt & paprika (and pepper if you wish. Top

with remaining cracker mixture.

Combine oyster liquor w/cream

to make 1c.(do this in a liquid measuring cup)Pour over

crumbs & oysters. Dot with butter and bake 25-30 minutes

or until top is nicely browned.

(NOTE) Remove cartilidge

from oysters and discard, drain liquor through cheese cloth

and check for shells.
