Scalloped Oysters (SO Good!)

My grandma makes this for every Christmas and believe me we look forward to eating it all year lol. I'm not a huge fan of oysters so I pick them out but even just eating the breading alone is really good.
RECIPE INGREDIENTS
1 c. melted butter
2 c. crushed crackers
1 c. dry bread crumbs
2 pints fresh oysters shucked-reserve liquid (We get them at the seafood counter at Marsh grocery store)
Sea Salt to taste
Paprika
Light to heavy cream (Add to oyster liquor to make 1 c.)
2 Tbs. butter
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Combine melted butter,crushed crackers,&


bread crumbs. Place 1/2 of the mixture in the bottom


of a buttered 7x11 baking dish. Cover mixture with oysters,sprinkle


wth salt & paprika (and pepper if you wish. Top


with remaining cracker mixture.


Combine oyster liquor w/cream


to make 1c.(do this in a liquid measuring cup)Pour over


crumbs & oysters. Dot with butter and bake 25-30 minutes


or until top is nicely browned.


(NOTE) Remove cartilidge


from oysters and discard, drain liquor through cheese cloth


and check for shells.
