Simply Au Gratin Potatoes



  • 1 package Simply Potatoes® Shredded Hash Browns
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups (6 ounces) Crystal Farms® Shredded Sharp cheddar
  • 3/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter, cut into small pieces


Heat the oven to 375 degrees F. Spray a 2-quart baking dish with nonstick cooking spray*. In a medium bowl, stir together the Simply Potatoes, salt and pepper. Spread half of the Simply Potatoes into the bottom of the prepared pan. Top with 1 cup cheese. Spread with the remaining Simply Potatoes. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup cheese.

In small bowl, stir together the chicken broth and cream. Pour over the Simply Potatoes. Place the butter pieces randomly over the potatoes. Bake, uncovered, 40 to 45 minutes, or until potatoes are golden brown and tender.

Tips: An 11 x 7-inch rectangular or 8-inch square baking dish can be used. Need to serve a large crowd? You can easily double this recipe and bake in a 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
