Skillet Spanish Rice

Makes 6 servings
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 1/2 green bell pepper, seeded and diced
- 1 cup uncooked white rice
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 cup tomato sauce or 1 8-ounce can tomato sauce
- 2 cups water
In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, onion and pepper; drain off the fat.
Stir in the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes or until the rice is tender.
