Slightly Sweet White Bread

Home made sweet bread-no bread machine or stand mixer needed
RECIPE INGREDIENTS
Ingredients:
-6 cups bread flour       -Pam Non stick spray       --plastic wrap
-1/2 tsp salt                 -2 cups warm water        --3/4 cup sugar (or sugar sub)
-2 packets fast rising yeast    -1/4 cup vegetable oil
DIRECTIONS
1.Combine 2 cups warm water and 3/4 cup sugar in large bowl (large


enough to eventually hold 6 cups flour)


2. Add 2pkgs


yeast and mix in, getting rid of lumps. put paper towel over


it and set aside for 10 minutes, allowing to proof (it will


get a foamy top to it)


3. Add 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 cup


vegetable oil and mix into yeast mixture.


4. Add flour,


2 cups at a time. Your arms will get a good workout!with the


last cup of flour, you may have to take out of the bowl onto


a lightly floured surface and work it in.


5. On floured


surface, knead dough for about 5 minutes, getting rid of


tacky spots by sprinkling a very small amounts of flour on


dough. shape into a ball.


6. place dough ball in a large


well oiled bowl. turn to coat, and spray a quick spray of


veggie oil spray across the top from about 6-12" away. cover


bowl with plastic wrap and a towel, and place in a dark warm


location (i use the microwave).


7. If putting in microwave,


turn on for 10 seconds, and just let bowl sit in there


for one hour, or if not in microwave, let sit in dark warm


location for one hour. Dough should come close to doubling


in size.


8. After an hour, turn dough out onto lightly


floured surface. Punch down dough and knead for about 5 minutes,


adding very small amounts of flour if necessary to get


rid of tackiness.


9. Flatten dough out by hand as much


as possible, and cut in half. take each half and tightly roll


up, forming into a loaf shape.


10. Place each half into


2 well oiled 5x9 loaf pans. Allow to sit for 10-15 minutes,


while preheating the oven. Set on top of oven while preheating.


11. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. This will allow


for the loaves to sit for 10 min.


12. Pop in oven for 30


minutes on the center rack.


Tip: If not eating right away,


put bread in fridge, wrapped in plastic wrap. Will be easier to cut when cool.
