SriLankan yellow rice

One of the most important dishes in a SriLankan meal is the hot rice.
500 grams Basmathi Rice
250 grams Chicken breast(diced)
1 Onion{chopped)
100 grams tomatoes(chopped)
1 red and 1 green medium sized bell pepper(chopped)
4 button mushrooms(chopped)
1 teaspoon ginger paste
1 teaspoon garlic paste
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup yoghurt.
Heat butter in a pan and saute the onions, ginger, garlic,

tomatoes, bell peppers, mushrooms, coriander and cumin powder

until fragrant. Then add the chicken and yoghurt and mix to

combine. Finally add the rice and sufficient water to cook

the rice and let it simmer cook until the rice is done. Mix a dash of turmeric powder with a little water and sprinkle

on top of the rice and serve. A rice cooker can be substituted for a pan if preferred.ENJOY.
