Steak Chili

RECIPE INGREDIENTS
1/4 cup oil
1cup chopped onion
1 large chopped pepper
1 large clove garlic or 1 tablespoon minced garlic
2lb lean chuck steak cut into 1/4" cubes
1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon roasted ground cumin or regular cumin
1 tables chopped cilantro fresh or dry
2 cans great northren beans
1 can pinto beans
1 can refried beans
1 can (14 1/2oz) whole tomatoes undrained
1 can (10oz) tomatoes with chilies
1 can tomato paste
1 large can of water
1 tsp salt
pepper
red pepper to taste(optional)
1 avocado
8 0z Cheese shredded Chedder or your favorite
sour cream
DIRECTIONS
In large dutch oven heat 3 tablespoons of oil over medium-high heat. Add onion, pepper and garlic saute until soft. Remove. Heat remaining oil in pan add beef 1/3 at a time and brown on all sides.Add chil powder,cumin,cilantro,salt. Cook stirring until beef is evenly coated. Return onion mixture. add remaining ingredients. Stirring frequently, bring to boil. Reduce heat. Stir occasionally, simmer uncovered about 2 hours or until beef is tender and mixture is thickened.


If you like serve topped with shredded cheese, sour cream and chopped avocado.
