SUMMER CHICKEN

RECIPE INGREDIENTS
3 lbs.chicken
4 tablespoons salad oil
1 large onion sliced
1/4 cup bottled lemon juice
3 tablespoons brown sugar
3 tablespoons cider vinegar
1 cup ketchup
3 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
1 1/4 cups water
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon pepper
DIRECTIONS
Brown chicken in oil and as done place in casserole. Add remaining ingredients in oil left in pan and bring to a boil, pour over chicken. cover and bake for an hour in a 350 degree oven. Uncover and let stand until needed.


Cook early on a hot day and keep at room temperature to serve with rolls or french bread and salad.
