This recipe comes from my friend and favorite chef, Justin. They are a perfect crispiness, with a nice buttery flavor.
RECIPE INGREDIENTS
1 cup shortening
1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease cookie sheets.


2. Mix the shortening, brown sugar and white sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well with each addition, stir in the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; gradually stir into the mixture. Fold in the chocolate chips. Drop by spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets.


3. Bake 8-10 minutes until light brown. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for a few minutes before removing to cool completely.

gr8 cookie recipe
i converted this recipe to suit my kids diet. i used 2 1/2 cups spelt flour instead of regular flour, 1 cup xyletol and 1/4 cup agave instead of white and brown sugars. the rest i followed the recipe. the cookies came out scrumptious!
