Vanilla-Scented Holiday Milk Punch

Makes 6 servings
Simple to mix, this warming punch is flecked with bits of real vanilla bean. For a final flourish, dust the top with cinnamon sugar if you like.
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream, divided
- 3 tablespoons plus 1/2 cup sugar, divided
- 3 cups whole milk
- 1/2 vanilla bean, halved lengthwise
- 1/2 cup whiskey
- 1/3 cup orange liqueur
- 1/4 cup hazelnut liqueur
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon mixed with 2 teaspoons sugar; optional
Combine 1 cup cream with 3 tablespoons sugar in whipped cream whipper. Cover and refrigerate.
Meanwhile, combine the remaining 1/2 cup cream, remaining 1/2 cup sugar and milk in a heavy large saucepan. Scrape in the
seeds from the vanilla bean. Gradually heat the mixture until the surface shimmers. Stir in the whiskey and liqueurs and heat through.
Ladle the hot punch into small mugs or heatproof glasses. Top with whipped cream - and cinnamon sugar, if desired. Serve immediately.
