Wine and Honey-Marinated Fruit

Makes 4 servings
- 1 orange
- 1 cup white wine
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 cups strawberries, tops trimmed, and halved
- 2 cups melon chunks
- 1 cup black or red seedless grape halves
- 3 sprigs mint
With a zester or peeler remove the zest from half of the orange. In a small saucepan, combine the wine, honey, orange zest, juice of the orange and cinnamon stick. Bring to a boil and simmer for 1 minute.
In a bowl, combine the fresh fruit and mint and pour the flavored wine over the fruit. Let cool and marinate for 1 hour, or overnight in the refrigerator. Serve by itself or as a compliment to ice cream or pound cake.
