Efficient, effective singer

This tea kettle whistles when the water is boiling which really helps when I leave the kitchen to complete other tasks. No more boiling the pot dry. The handle is conveniently padded for easy, cool grip. It looks good and performs as well.

color, style and safety are excellent. the only compromise is in filling the kettle; the pour spout doesn't open fully, so the lid must be removed.

I bought the tea kettle as a Christmas gift for my Mom. She recently redecorated her kitchen and wanted red accessories. I didn't have time to shop and bought the kettle online. The package arrived in time and was beautifully wrapped. My Mom was thrilled when she opened her gift. It was exactly what she wanted. I was satisfied with the quality of the purchase and with the service I received from cooking.com. The best part was that I didn't have to deal with the madness of last minute shopping at the mall..

Thank you.

The handle gets hot and the spout leaks when boiling - sometimes.

I love the cheerful red color of this teakettle and am overall pleased with it. I use it daily. It is a nice weight and quality. My one criticism is that you cannot open the pouring spout all the way, which means that you must remove the lid to fill it. Still, I wanted a red teakettle to sit on my stovetop, and this fills the bill nicely.

Kettle Disappointment

by Jeanette, WA
December 24, 2007

I didn't even get a chance to use this kettle. I was getting the feel of how it would work and after a couple flips of the pour opening the piece didn't open very wide. It appears to be a design flaw. While you can pop the piece back in place it will repeatedly slip out of place and the opening will only crack open about a quarter of an inch. I decided to return this product before even using it. I really like the look and feel of the kettle but I'm sure hot water would have splashed all over the place when trying to pour it out.

Hooray.

This teapot is not only good to look at but very well made and functional. A few people wrote that they had a problem with water dribbling and spitting when they went to pour it but I have had no such problem. I give this teapot an A+. Best one I've owned in a long time (and I go through a lot of teapots).

This tea kettle looks great and works great. I am very happy with its performance and would recommend it. The only flaw is that you must remove the lid in order to fill it with water since the spout opening does not open wide enough.

Kool Kettle

by Kevin, NY

I'm a single guy so 'tea kettles' aren't necessarily something I'd get to excited about (or write about). Having said this, the kettle is nice looking (looks good sitting on the stove), well made and a good value for the money. The 'whistle' is OK too.

KitchenAid Tea Kettle, stainless, 2qt

It does the job. Looks good. The whistle works. Handle could be better insulated from heat.

Let me start by saying, I have a powerful gas stove, as such, it's very difficult to find a kettle without plastic parts that will melt, or handles that will get hot. This one has silicone which is way better than plastic. The base of the kettle is nice and wide, but the flames, if on high, can still lick their way up the side. This wouldn't be a problem if the handle had the silicone go all the way around, however, there's a sliver of exposed metal running the length of the handle on both sides, and this unfortunately can heat up. I'd imagine this isn't really a problem on most stoves, so I'd only worry if you have really high BTU burners. The finish is brushed, which is nice, since I have to scrub it occassionally as it sits on top of my stove all the time and it picks up spatter sometimes while I cook. Overall it's still way better than anything else I've found.

Annoying cover

by Jen, MA
November 3, 2006

The tea kettle looked fine until I tried to take the top off. The sound it made when I put the cover back on reminded me of someone running their fingernails down a black board. I tried several times to see if I could get used to the noise but it made the hair on my neck stand up. I can't really give an opinion on its functionality since I did not use it.

Kitchen Aid stainless steel kettle

by Mary, NY
March 23, 2009

I am pleased with my recent purchase of Kitchen Aid stainless steel kettle...It's holds enough water for four large cups. My husband and I are tea drinkers and this keeps the water hot and the whistle reminds us that it's ready!
I would definately recommend this to friends and family.
Thank!

Mary
