Remote Cooking Thermometer

Great product; Works well. I had a little problem getting sending unit to connect to the base. Probably would have helped if I had read the instructions. Sending unit needs a magnet on the back or some way to attach it to the oven. I would also like a way to attach the probe to receiving unit (thermometer base) as an option in case sending unit stops working.

I bought this for my Daughter. I was at her home for dinner and she was cooking a prime rib and was opening the oven to use an instant read thermometer therefore, letting oven temperature go down. We have not yet tried it so will see but I bought it based on comments made by other purchaser's.I am alway's pleased with the all around service and speed of ordering products from cooking .com, will continue to do so .

I got this as a gift for my fiance and he absolutely loved it. Now he has no excuse for overcooking the meat ;)

I burnt the roast!

Well, one half works but the remote is silent! Never said sqwat. So I only use the one plugged into the food.

Perfect in every way

The Redi-Check thermometer is great. It is highly accurate and the wireless feature is quite a convenience.

Too complicated

We needed both a timer and a quick thermometer. This seemed to satisfy both needs. Big brochure...Complicated. Wife hates it. We'll probably end up buying good quality individual items. We'll keep playing with it, hoping to find a niche for it. Reviews are positive so maybe we'll end up praising it.

This therometer was hard to set up. Once set up, though, it worked great.

Easy to use

This product worked as I expected it to work. We've used it several times since our purchase and rely on it more and more because of it's accuracy. The remote is most helpful because you can almost take it anywhere in the house. You don't have to stay in the kitchen. If you need a cooking thermometer, I would recommend the Redi-Check.

I loved the Redi-Check Remote Cooking Thermometer and Timer...it worked perfectly on my Thanksgiving turkey. The price was great...but when you add the tax and shipping it gets pretty costly.

Great tool for a moist turkey

I bought this thermometer so I could try and make the Good Eats Turkey. It worked very well. The only thing I would caution is that I had the thermometer too far into the bird and it read that it reached to target temp much too quickly. I just pulled the probe out a bit, the temp immediately went down and I finished cooking it to exactly the right temp. We loved it! I will never make a turkey without using this foolproof method again.

this is the second remote thermometer I have purchased, the first one (another brand)quit after the 3rd time using and would not recognize the remote unit. This one I put in the batteries and turned it on and both units recognized each other, I then cooked a chicken breast to perfection and next I used it on Thanksgiving dinner and again it worked perfect. I will let my friends know that I found one that worked.

Overall convenience & efficiency

They say that the worst thing to do when grilling is to open the lid over and over to check your food. Using this remote thermometer is the answer to this problem. You set the temp on the grill, set the temp for the food, and feel free to do other things until the remote tells you the food is done. It appears to be accureate, conserves the heat from the grill and as a result, the food is done more quickly. So far my husband and I are very happy with the results.

Husband birthday gift

I had gotten something similar to this item last year for his birthday and we could not get it to work. However, after seeing the reviews on this item, i thought we give it a try. It works great. My husband saids, it spoils him. He was so impress with it that we grilled out almost every day for a week. He loves to grill but can't stay out in the heat for a long period of time. The redi-check remote cooking thermometer allows him to come inside instead of standing over the grill the whole time.

My boy friend grills almost everyday and the remote thermometer is one of the best gifts he has ever received. He first tried it grilling drunk chickens and it worked perfect. He did not have to check as often as the thermometer told him what he needed to know without leaving the comforts of his chair. I would recommend this cooking thermometer to anyone who grills.

Time

Although this tem guage is very nice, it takes quite awhile to read thru the book to find out the "how tos". Soooo, if you've purchased this, make sure you take the time to read the booklet that comes with it. It's a wonderful little package that has many qualities to it.
