Chuck Roast still tough and pink
This purchase was made strictly for my long time desire and search for the perfect pot roast. The unit works great....it measures temp and beeps loudly enough for us to hear it but my roast was still tough. The next day while cutting leftovers nice and thin I could see that the roast was still pink inside. The temp was 172 when well done is 170. Go figure. Once again a nice tender fall apart roast has alluded me. Don't get me wrong...I will use the thermometer for other cooking projects, but this was the main reason I ordered it.

I love that this thermometer probe can be put in the meat when in the oven! The thermometer can be set to a temperature or a type of meat/taste. A great thing about this product is that you never have to open the oven to check the temperature.

I used this very same thermometer to roast a 60 lb pig (dressed) in a caja china. It works perfectly. However, I bought it as part of a package of accessories from a well know Pellet Smoker website. Then, in a fit of pure genius, I left it outside in the rain. I found this on the Food Network and realized it was the very same one offered on the pellet smoker site, but this one is about $15 cheaper. Need I say more?
