I had a stainless steel food mill for years but it was large, bulky and hard to turn. I still need to use a food mill occasionally so decided to purchase a much smaller lighter version. I am thrilled with the lighter, easier plastic mill. The blades and handle are stainless but the compact plastic bowl makes it so much lighter and the smaller handle is easier to turn. I would recommend this product to "older" cooks whose hand strength has diminished a little over the years.25 of 25 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »
Silky smooth mashed potatoes
I read about using a food mill in Cook's Country magazine ... that it makes silky smooth mashed potatoes without fail. I had to get one and this one is fantastic. It's easy to use and lives up to its promise. I highly recommend it! I love it!14 of 18 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »
Glad I bought this
Bought this as using a potato ricer has become problematic for my hands. It is easy enough to assemble and use--does a great job, and can be put in the dishwasher. Who could ask for more?14 of 17 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »
Not just run-of-the-mill.
Although there are better food mills on the market, this is an excellent choice for its price. It doesn't have a large capacity and I worry about the plastic lasting as long as a metal one would. but for ocassional use this is sufficient.13 of 17 users found this helpful. This is not the best food mill out there... but it is a good deal. If you're a just making jams and sauces as a hobby (as I am) and don't want to spend $100.00 on a food mill for 1 or 2 uses a year, this one will do just fine.13 of 16 users found this helpful. This isn't as large as I remember my mom's mill from 30 years ago. But it made quick work of 10 pounds of potatoes at each of the last couple of holiday dinners. My wife had never used a mill (she's always used a hand masher and stand mixer); she was stunned by its effectiveness. We haven't had it long enough to vouch for its durability, but it seems sturdy enough.10 of 11 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »
So far have only used it for mashed potatoes - it worked like a charm - can't understand why I waited so long to add a food mill to my collection.10 of 13 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »
This product is hard to find. It has a large capacity, good design in that when resting on a bowl there are 3 areas of support keeping it stable.
Easy to dismantle and clean and one of the best things is it won't rust.
This food mill really is very good. My only complaint is barely really a complaint: it's so big that I don't really use it for the baby food for which I bought it. I bought a separate mini mill for baby food. This is awesome, however, for mashed potatoes, tomato sauce, applesauce, etc.7 of 8 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Works Great - Though you need good hands
This works great. Good material. Great design. I've tossed it in the dishwasher and it takes that too. I feel certain it will last for years to come.
The only reason it didn't get a higher rating was because you need to have strong hands to get that blade in place against the grater. I'm petite too, so I had to stand on my stool to lean into it and get it squeezed on. If you have arthritis or are getting it for someone frail, I might reconsider.
Maybe one other thing you might wonder about is securing it to a bowl, It will fit different sizes but I had trouble at times. That might be because of my height too. I was always using it from an angle rather leaning over it.
I have never bought or used one of these before, so I don't know, they may all be like that. I bought it to make baby food and it worked great for that. I even used it to grind up meat. I started with cut up pieces and worked my way from the coarser to the finer grater.
Very impressed even though it is plastic. My last food mill was a poorly constucted metal one and this is definately superior. I went through ten pounds of potatoes in a very short time. I would highly recommend this. Great product for a great price!5 of 6 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »
Rotary Food Mill
Love the way it goes together & comes apart for easy cleaning -- the way it fits on different sized containers so can just mill food into a measurer without having to dirty more dishes. Stores easly. Perfect for the few times a year I need it to make jelly and jam.5 of 5 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »

First time Momma
This product is still relatively new for me though I've used it a few times. I purchased this product as a tool to use in making home made baby food. Thus far it is working wonderful!! I love how it smashes the food usable for baby food and keeps the skin and seeds out. It does not waste much food and is easy to clean providing you don't let the food sit on it over night. Parts are dishwasher safe on top rack too. The built in bowl rest ridges don't perfectly fit any of my Pirexware so I did have to dig around for a suitable bowl, though I'd rather have this feature than not. Very easy to assemble and disassemble. I have not used other mills to compare this against another but am satisfied with this product. Seems to be good quality. Perfect for steamed pear, peas, green-beans and foods alike. Size is good though storage is a bit difficult due to it's shape with feet.4 of 5 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Rotary Food Mill
Worked as advertised all you need to remember is that it is made of plastic and you can NOT crank down on it like if it was made of Stainless Steel.
Other than that it works as good as the SS one I had for years but lost during a move and repaced it with this one as I don't cook sauces as much as in the past and feel this will last me if I take care of it.
And for the money spent you can't ask for more.
I needed something for my tomato sauce since I like to use the canned whole tomatoes and it worked great. I will also use it for applesauce. For the price, it does the job well.4 of 4 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »
