This Cuisinart Sandwich Grill is so versatile, your list of possible culinary creations is limited only by the contents of your refrigerator and pantry and the extent of your imagination. Heat the press until the indicator light shows that it's time to cook, then load the nonstick grill plates with two slices of bread and fill with your favorite toppings -- we love to use fresh sourdough, heirloom tomatoes and sharp cheddar to make a delicious adult grilled cheese. Simply wait until the handy "Ready to Eat" light flips on, and your hot, mouthwatering lunch will be cooked to perfection. If you're not in the mood for a sandwich, crack an egg into the well and add chopped vegetables and cheese for a delicious omelette without the need to watch a frying pan or attempt a messy flip. The grill's nonstick feature means you use less oil to create fast, healthy alternatives to fast food or processed snacks. With two separate bays, you can even create two different masterpieces side by side without waiting for one to finish or needing to clean in between.

Cooking plates with raised ridges to seal the edges of food, keeping in juices and fillings
Imagine. It's 10pm and that light dinner didn't quite do the job. With this gadget you can use the last two pieces of bread, the three pieces of left over breakfast sausage and the drying grated swiss cheese left in a ziplock to make a delicious and quick snack. This thing is great. It cooks fast. No smoking. And it cleans up with a damp paper towel. Nothing sticks to it; not to the inside or the outside. And for storage, just toss it on top of the frig. This is perfect for one of two people. Get a larger unit if you plan to serve larger groups.
Brushed stainless is actually plastic but looks good. The wattage appears to be slightly less than other sandwich makers that I have had in the past so it takes a little longer to heat up. On the plus side, this will allow the unit to last longer as it will not overheat if left on and not used immediately. The unit is advertised as being deeper than the average maker but in fact is average depth or a little less than some, don't plan on overstuffing the sandwich with filling. I have used this sandwich maker several times and it is easy to use and gives good results. The red/green lights make using it easier to use than some of the one light sandwich makers. It cleans up very well, after cooling it can be wiped out with a paper towel, This includes burned on cheese and grease. Good unit, great for the price.
This grill is the greatest! We took it on vacation and it easily warned up take-out sandwiches. When I got home I then made a grilled cheese and portabello sandwich. Heavenly! It also is very easy to keep clean. I don't usually purchase small appliances, but this one is a keeper.
I have used this product to make grilled cheese and breakfast sandwiches so far. I love the fact that it tells you when its ready to use and when the sandwich is done, no guess work involved. I recommend this product for families on the go as it makes it easy to make a quick lunch on busy days or any time you want a quick and great tasting meal. Going to try it out on some other ideas soon
Even when the bread is cut smaller, the bread doesn't fit right. Not only that, it flattens the bread so much that the cheese melts right into the bread. Not so tasty. It takes all your might to pull the top down to latch it in. Very unhappy. Should be larger. I was disappoited with this and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I'll go back to my old way of making grilled cheese in a fry pan. I am sending this back!!!
I had a sandwich maker years ago but left it in the kitchen at work when a bunch of us got laid off. I really didn't use it but got it for coworkers to make hot sandwiches for lunch. So when I saw this one and was ordering other items I thought I would give it a try. Well, I think this product is pretty much worthless. It's so limited as to what you can do with it except to make smashed hot sandwiches that aren't very good. And about the only bread that works in it is plain old white sandwich style. Larger bread is just crushed. If a person is thinking about buying this to make sandwiches don't do it! You're better off getting something like a griddle or a paninni press for sandwiches that takes any size or type of bread.
I was so happy to have found this sandwich grill at Cooking.com. I had given my grandson one for Christmas and his dog pulled it off the counter and broke it. I looked all over town to find another one but was unsuccessful so looked online and found this one by Cuisinart and it was a real bargain. I purchased it right away and now my grandson is happy again that he can make his own grilled sandwiches.
This little sandwich grill is great. The recipe booklet could say lots more about cooking possibilities. Not only does it do great grilled cheese sandwiches, but you can do corn bread, mini-cakes, and more. Cleans up nice, too.
I'm now able to make my own pocket sanwiches using whole wheat and what ever contents I choose and it only takes a minute or two longer. All sandwiches, so far, have been grilled evenly and the contents well heated. I do wish it had an on/off switch, as of now it's controlled by plugging and unplugging the grill.
I was very pleased with this purchase. I bought it for my grandson who is a college student so that he could make healthy meals. Before I gave it to him I gave it a test drive and was impressed with the ease of use and the end results. I especially appreciated that it included some recipes with it as this will be a held to my grandson. The french toast is so easy to make. I was so happy with it that I have decided to get one for myself.
I purchased this in hopes that it would help out with a quick lunch on the weekends. It is wonderful! It's fun to make different sandwiches and easy enough for my 8-year old to help! I even took it to work and we made pizza pockets there! GREAT BUY!
What a fantastic item, I bought this for the family as a christmas gift my two sons have used it since we opened it. It is very easy to use and clean up is simple. I would highly recommend this item. Michael
