Sausage Stuffer works great

by Corie, TX

We went to Cabela's before purchasing the stuffer for our KitchenAid. We determined that to get a sausage/grinder/stuffer that would be better than the KitchenAid version we would have to buy the absolute top of the line commercial model for around $700. The lower end model's capacity is not that much bigger than the KitchenAid. If you already have the KitchenAid, might as well buy the grinder and sausage stuffer attachment because it works fine. We ground 15 pounds of venison with another 7 pounds of boston butt pork roast, mixed them together and then stuffed into summer sausage casings. Used Cabelas summer sausage making kit...smoked it in our grill...and it tastes better than Hickory Farms ;)

Sausage Stuffer Attachment Doesn't Work

by Jill, MI
March 1, 2009

I have been making sausage for 40 years and normally use a hand crank system. Since I have a Kitchen Aid mixer, I decided to try the sausage stuffer. It was terrible! What normally would take me an hour to do by hand, took over 3 hours with the Kitchen Aid. I sent this product back.

This is a replacement sausage stuffer attachment. I accidentally threw out the small part that allows the unit to set correctly on the grinder assembly. Also, do not over tighten, I cracked my first large sausage attachment. Other than that, it is easy to use and I have been able to make sausages that pleases all family and friends that taste them.

When I recieved the attachment I was a little leary, but, after collecting the casings, which my local butcher supplies at a very reasonal price, I attempted to proceed.I found that it is so easy ,I will be making more on a regular basis. Thank You
