I ordered these lids & rings because the description says 'Stainless Steel'. Upon receiving them, I immediately checked with a magnet and found them to be strongly magnetic. Stainless steel is generally not magnetic at all or maybe weakly magnetic. These lids and rings seem identical to the ones I got with a box of 12 wide mouth jars, and those rings rusted while growing sprouts. So I am sending these lids & rings back for a refund. Of course, I will have to pay the return shipping so I'll lose out on this little experiment.
