Great coffee-never taste burnt!

by Carol, OR
August 27, 2012

Been drinking this dark roasted coffee for years. Sometimes Starbucks has that burnt coffee taste but this coffee is not only great tasting but isn't bitter or taste burnt plus has with a hint of caramel. I purchase the beans so that I can grind them and have fresh tasting coffee. The ground coffee is good too but if you want fresh coffee go for the beans.

We bought some of this with a coupon and liked it so much we bought more, even if it is more expensive than our usual brands.

Coffee has Changed

by Edith, TX
December 4, 2012

Napoli Blend Whole Bean Coffee -- has changed since the company sold out to Starbucks. It is good but not "great" (as it was before).

Misrepresentation

by Edith, TX
February 11, 2013

This is no longer an Italian Coffee (It is made in the USA) -- not as rich -- not as smooth as the Italian original. Even the package has changed. It's "okay" but not worth a premium price.

Great Whole-Bean Coffee!.Discontinued, though

by Harold, CA
March 22, 2013

I have purchased the Torrefazione line of coffee beans for several years and like them over all others. The only regret is we have a grind-and-brew coffee maker, order whole beans, and this is at least the second Torrefazione roast that has been discontinued...but can still get it ground. This "phase-out" of whole beans has happened ever since "SB" took Torrefazione over. Who knows what business decisions go on behind the scenes. So at the recent close out I bought 27 bags to last me 8 mo and then I will have to find a new favorite if I still want to grind my beans. I tried SB French roast at COSTCO, but don't like it as well. So, if ground coffee is ok with you, you can't find any better.

Wonderful Coffee!!

This coffee has the richest taste of anything I've had. Nothing beats the Italian roasting method for deep, rich coffee taste. It makes Starbucks taste like the corner diner's coffee!

Best Coffee!

by Nancy, AZ
March 26, 2013

My husband and I discovered this coffee at a small restaurant several years ago, while on vacation. We talked the manager into selling us a bag to take home. We then searched to find this coffee for sale and have enjoyed it at home ever since. It has become increasingly difficult to find in whole bean form, and we hope it will continue to be available through epicurious.

I have tried a lot of different brands of coffee and find the Torrefazione Italia Brand superior to everything else for a drip coffee maker. I have grown particularly fond of Italian roast coffees. They seem to be smoother and far less bitter than many other dark roast coffees. I drink my coffee black; I don't use cream or sugar that might hide a bitter taste. I have tried all of the Torrefazione Italia blends; the Napoli blend is my favorite, but there are several others that come close.

I love Terrefazione coffee, but we do not have a store near us, so purchasing on line was very convenient.

I rarely use any other coffee, except when I brew decaffinated coffee for guests. This coffee is rich with a deepr flavor and aroma, but never bitter.

We have been ordering the Napoli blend of coffee beans for over a year now and really enjoy it. Before that, we had ordered a milder blend of Torrefazione Italia coffee. It is a tad expensive but we both love coffee and find the Napoli blend to our liking.

This is the best coffee I have found since returning from living in Italy for 4 years. I'm only sorry that Starbucks bought out this family business, which also started in Seattle. You could see Torrefazione's coffee roaster in the Pike Place Market (
