Misapplied Materials
The build quality of the mousse rings are fine, but they are made of galvanized steel. This is a nickel-based coating that is designed to prevent rust, and is commonly used in construction materials.
The coating process produces an outer layer that can be highly toxic to the human body; special breathing apparatus is required in order to weld it.
After having cleaned the rings very thoroughly before my first use, a grayish-nickel stain was left on the dessert that I had painstakingly prepared...which ended up in the trash, and was replaced by a scoop of ice cream. While embarrassing, it was better than potentially providing a lethal toxin to my guests.
I plan to purchase a length of stainless steel tubing and make my own molds for all future use.
4 Round Mousse Rings
The Rings worked great but after looking at the product; I thought the rings to be very overpriced. I made the lemon mouse but needed 6 rings. I was able to use 2 cans by removing both ends. It worked perfectly.

they were not quite big enough, but I did use them to make muffins and they were great!!
The rings are exactly the right size and shape. The material is cheap. They also took a long time to arrive.

My chef took off and took all his ring molds with him. these molds fit the bill. They are both sturdy and well behaved. They dont talk back and show up on time. Plus you can season them the same as you would a cast iron pan. Non Sticky! never talk to pans and never listen to british people

I purchased these rings for a Valentines Dinner I've been working on for the last few weeks. Can't really complain, just that thet are aluminum not stainless. When I recieved them, I thought well I could have had my dad cut these for me. Could've saved on shipment. Always a thought on ways to save money.

I actually wanted these to make perfectly shaped crab mounds on a salad i do. They're the perfect size and very reasonably priced. I have no doubt that I will find many other ways to use the rings.

They are really nicely made --very smooth, one-piece aluminum, so not only is there no worry about rusting or welds to corrode or break, but they are naturally quite non-stick. We have been using them to poach eggs in, and we don't even need to butter them. They are very light, good looking, and a very versatile size. These feel like an amazing bargain at the $10 we paid for them.

I'm using these for individual chocolate souffles - bc I don't like desserts that must stay in a ramekin. These are perfect - and similar to what some top chefs are using to make their indiv. desserts at restaurants. Also can be used for mini cheesecakes etc.

When reading the size I thought it might be too narrow and tall. Upon receipt I used them for a dinner presentation and it proved to be the perfect size. I highly recommend them.

As a chef, I am always looking for ways to enhance my plates. I have been using cookie cutters as forms for doing specialty plated dishes for years.
When I saw these mousse rings, I thought, what do I have to lose by giving them a try.
To say they worked great is and understatement, they are fantastic. The perfect diameter, the right height. You can build a perfect stack, tuna, crab, greens, topping, then just lift the ring and your stack stays in a perfect pillar.
People have been asking me how I get the stacks so nice and even, well if they shop here at cooking .com, now they know.
I highly recommend these to anyone wishing to kick up their plated food presentations.

Outstanding Product and Price.
I have used the ring set twice and they work great everytime. I have not used for dessert, only savory dishes. I spray with non stick spray and they clean up in a jiffy. Makes very impressive presentation of foods that are normally just spooned out into a dish such as lasagna and potato gratin.

I use these to make tidy crabcakes or ricecakes or polenta cakes -- makes a nice presentation for a dinner party. You'd think ring molds would be easy to find in a city the size of Seattle. But most cookware shops had only one or two in stock, and they were $6-7 apiece. These were 4 rings for $11! A good size and a good deal.

1 of 1 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »This a rare item, I saw used on Iron Chef and was about to make some from used cans until I saw this. It allows for a very nice presentation for many unusual recipes. some which will be featured at my next party.
1 of 1 users found this helpful. Was it helpful to you? Yes | No Report Violation »The fact that they have the proper height to make mousse rings or whatever you choose and that they can go into the dishwasher is super. Aluminium is far better than any other product that will show rust spots! For that it's a great value for money.
