Made of high-quality Western red cedar, Pacific Northwest Fine Wood Products 6 Cedar Barbecue Planks provide you with the foundation to prepare several smoke-infused meals. Each plank lets you cook approximately two servings of meats or vegetables on either a charcoal or gas grill. Control the strength of flavor by soaking the planks for a shorter or longer time; submerging a plank in water for approximately 30 minutes before cooking increases the flavor of the final meal. Reduce the smokiness of each item by soaking the planks for up to one hour. Place meat or vegetable items on the damp plank and set it all on the grill. The bottom and sides of the plank slowly burn as food cooks, infusing your meal with unique cedar-smoke flavor. We know fix-it-and-forget it recipes are popular when planning for a gathering, but expert grilling requires attention. For the best results, keep a spray bottle of water handy to control flare-ups, and check the status of your planks and food often while cooking. When guests salivate over the delicious smoky flavor of your food, we think you'll agree the grilling time was well spent.     My friends were BBQ salmon on cedar and I was so impressed especially after tasting the salmon that was prepared. The taste was moist, not dry or fishy. So I have cooked several times with the cedar and have always been pleased with the out come. My son, who loves fish will eat one complete meal on the cedar without sharing. We try very hard to eat healthy and not prepare fatty foods, so this is really the best way to go. This will be the 2nd summer that we have used the cedar and the average price is from $4.99 to $5.99 each.

  • I use these planks twice a week for grilling fish, chicken, and steaks. They work incredibly well (no burning or charring of the meat) and provide a great smoky flavor to anything you cook, even vegetables.

  • Great taste

    I've never used cedar planks before and everyone at dinner was pleasantly surprised at how much flavor it adds to the recipe. We used it for salmon and I want to try other meats as well. Used a gas grill and didn't have any problems with flare ups or sticking. We did oil the plank before use.

  • Super Salmon with Planks

    I have never been really fond of bar-b-qued fish but these planks have changed my mind forever. They were so easy to use. All I had to do was soak the planks and then put them on the grill. What can be easier than that. No oiling the planks, no fish flaking and falling through the grate and my Salmon didn't even stick. And the clean up. All I had to do was through the plank in the trash. The flavor was the best part of it all. It was delicious. You can bet that fish is going to be regular item on my menu from now on.

  • The "cedar" is extremely flimsy, hollow, like styrofome. Very combustable, even after soaking. Not much Cedar aroma, especially after openning the package. Extremely expensive for individual usage in a restaurant that sells a lot of salmon.

  • WE HAVE PURCHASED THESE BEFORE AND REALLY LIKED THEM. THE ONES I BOUGHT HERE WERE GIFTS FOR OUR RELATIVES. THEY ARE VERY INTERESTED IN THEM AND CAN'T WAIT TO USE THEM.
