Keep any nonserrated blade in your home clean and sharp with the Wusthof Sharpening Whetstone Knife Sharpener. Classic design and traditional construction bring a timeless tool to your kitchen or workspace. The stone provides plenty of sharpening surface for blades of various sizes, and a two-sided sharpening system ensures you get just the right texture on your blade. A gray, coarse grain on one side lets you remove small dents and flaws that occur in a blade over prolonged use. Getting rid of these flaws is the first step in returning your knife to a precision blade. Once you remove those issues, flip the sharpening stone over to make use of the finer grain on the green side. The fine grain lets you hone your blade to the desired level of sharpness. To use the stone, simply position your blade at a 20-degree angle to the stone. Applying minimal pressure, pull the blade across the stone in a single motion, moving from the bottom of the blade to the tip. Repeat the movement on both sides of the blade until you are satisfied with the sharpness. For best results, use the stone on a slip-resistant surface. A rubber cutting board or a silicon potholder both provide a safe, nonslip surface for sharpening knives.

I love the item - absolutely love it. It puts a very fine edge on my knives. The problem is with the shipping - they lost the first one, reshipped, then delivered the original. I am still waiting to return it - PO won't accept. I have spent literally an hour already trying to return it and still have it. Again, the item itself is wonderful.
I had another whetstone, but decided to go to Wusthof quality when I bought their knives. The Wusthof whetstone is clearly exceptional - it has visibly finer grains than my previous one. It also sharpened my Wusthof knives perfectly - nice and sharp! I would recommend buying this product.

Not for larger knives
From the images of this stone, it appeared to be larger than it is. I find the 400 grit side to be too rough for any small knife honing and the entire block is too small for about anything larger than a paring knife. the finer grit side does an adequate honing job on smaller blades.
