I have an older model of these tongs that is all SS (with rubber on the handles.) This one has heat resistant silicone rubber tips that makes them more non-slip than just metal alone. It still has the notched metal edges to rest them on the side of a pan w/o them sliding off and the top release is still a pull out not a push in. Why I mention this is that I had some tongs that had to push in to release and when I put them into my utility crock, it would spring open if I put them in wrong.

These go great with my Simply Calphalon pots and pans. Will not damage them. Not heavy and easy to open and close while cooking.

These tongs are well made and will definitely protect your expensive non-stick surfaces. However they do not open up as shown in the picture. Not sure if this is a manufacture design flaw, but this will definitely limit what you can use these tongs.

Overall I like these tongs, but the mechanism at the top to lock or unlock them is hard to work. This can be a bit of an annoyance especially when you grab them while in the middle of cooking something. Otherwise the quality is good and nice to have non-stick tongs.
