This stainless steel battery powered salt mill integrates beauty and function. A good alternative to manual grinders, which can be hard to twist, you simply push the button to start grinding the salt. A small light illuminates the bottom of the mill so that you can see exactly how much salt is being dispensed. Ideal as a gift for anyone who has a hard time using manual grinders. The salt mill should be used with coarse sea salt only -- do not fill with table salt. Six AAA Alkaline batteries are required, which are not included. To clean, wipe with a damp cloth. Do not put in the dishwasher.

I purchased the Pepper Mill first and the light did not work. The company replaced the bulb but it only worked for 2 weeks and went out again. Cooking.com replaced the entire unit with no issues at all so I decided to take a chance and get the salt mill. It works perfectly as does the replacement pepper mill. Cleans up beautifully and works like a charm.

Great little grinder. After you finish putting it together with the batteries, it works very easily and the light is a great feature. It grinds my large grain sea salt with no problem. Threw away at least five other grinders I had accumulated but never found satisfactory

I already had the pepper mill, which I am very pleased with. I like the one handed approach to applying fresh ground pepper to my recipes. The size of the grind is easily adjustable, the light that automatically comes on is great. I put sea salt in the salt mill. It also has a good grind, but not real fine. For most applications it is good.
