The KitchenAid Silver Personal Single Serve Coffee Maker lets you make a single serving of coffee quickly and conveniently. The water tank can hold up to 18 ounces, so you can choose how much coffee you want to prepare, and you can fill it from any angle. The front-loading brew basket makes it easy to add as much ground coffee as you want, and you can use either the included gold tone filter or your favorite brand of #2 cone paper filters in the basket. Both the brew basket and gold tone filter are dishwasher safe. The one-touch brewing system is simple to operate; just scoop in 1 to 2 tablespoons of ground coffee for every 6 ounces of water and turn the unit on to get great coffee delivered directly into your cup. Because the heating element is vertically oriented, the water stays consistently hot, ensuring that there are no cooler areas in the water tank that could affect the brewing process. The unit comes with an insulated 18-ounce travel mug and lid, so you're ready to head off to work, school or play as soon as your coffee finishes brewing, and because it holds heat in, your coffee won't cool off too quickly. When your unit isn't in use, cord storage on the back keeps the cable out of the way, and the unit is compact enough to leave on your countertop, so it's always available when you need it.

  • One cup Wonder

The item is exactly as presented. The Item is easy to use, cleans up easily, and has a very small counter footprint. Coffee perks up quickly and hot. Thermal mug addition was very key for us in buying this. We us it at the office, and it already saving us time and money.

    I recommend this product.

  • Ok, but not perfect

I was disappointed to find that there was no button to select which size cup is being brewed. There are pictures on the side of the water tank, but because the plastic is dark, it's difficult to see how much water is in it. Whatever you put in, comes out, so it took several tries to figure out how much coffee and water would brew a good cup. I figured out that I have to pour the water into the cup I'm using and dump that into the reservoir. I'm the only coffee drinker in the house, so it's working for me, but I would hesitate to recommend it to anybody with more than one coffee drinker in the house.

  • An ideal Valentine's Day gift

The streamlined modern design of this coffee maker first caught my eye. It was the perfect gift for my husband's office. It's simple to use and fast, and best of all, the liquid is super-hot, not lukewarm or scalding. The travel mug is lightweight, yet substantial enough to keep its contents fresh for a long time. Would recommend this item over other popular single-serve brands.

    I recommend this product.

  • Too many negatives.

We purchased this product 3 months ago and over the Thanksgiving week when we had out of town company staying with us (we showed them how to use this coffeemaker as they are up earlier than we are) and it died. I called Kitchen Aid as it is under warranty. They suggested that I should clean it out once a month by running vinegar through it to keep the water deposits from damaging the machine. That it probably was the cause of the problem. I had done that to no avail. They sent me a replacement which we received last week and we noted that once a month we must run a vinegar rinse through it. The cons are: I don't think the coffee is quite hot enough. I had a hard time hearing the beeper that signals when coffee is done brewing, although the new one is louder. The coffee maker continues to drip a little for a while after coffee is brewed and light goes off so I keep a paper towel on the cup stand. I use a funnel in the opening for pouring in the water as the cup is always dribbling out water down the side. (May be me) We gave one to my son for his birthday before ours stopped working. I hope he has better luck. The pros are: My husband and I drink different brews. Caffeine and half Caff. We can make our coffee stronger as we like and not so strong for company if that is their choice. It is attractive. It is convenient in that you can personalize how many ounces of coffee you want to make for yourself. It is less expensive to make coffee in this vs. the Keurig although we do have a keurig cup. (who wants to clean that? Harder than the Kitchenaid to clean). One reason I purchased this is that it is a Kitchenaid product. They stand behind their guarantees and are very pleasant to deal with. They sent me a new machine and a free shipping label to return the bad one. There was no arguing. I have dealt with them before on a product and it was just as pleasant then.

    I recommend this product.
