Aptly Titled
I always enjoy Aaron McCargo's cooking show and have tried several of his recipes that my family and I thoroughly enjoyed. So, I jumped at the chance to have a collection of recipes to refer to as I plan menus. The organization of the recipes is simple and therefore easily accessible. I especially like the index(the hallmark of a good reference book)for you can find recipes according to a main ingredient, type of food, type of dish, and even instruments like skewers. So many cookbooks have inadequate indices. Simply done and well done, I agree.

A little disappointed with not enough desserts

I was so excited that Big Daddy had a book coming out because I am a huge fan. I love watching his shows and DVR every one of them. He has such a way of making you want to make whatever he's making. Unfortunately, the book did not really bring that over. It felt almost fake in a way, like it was him talking. Also, there are limited pictures which I think make a recipe book great. He's such a visual food person, I think those pictures are necessary. I hope he comes out with another book because I'm still a huge fan, but hopefully it's more "him."

I have already started putting together my grocery list for all the recipes that I want to try. Just what I expected from Big Daddy, a great cook book with lots of exciting things to try. The big question is, which ones do I try first? I love this book. -Annette
