For opening cans manually, our Oxo Good Grips can opener provides comfort with its soft handles as well as safety with a special mechanism that removes the lids without any sharp edges. A cushioned side-wind knob is easy to turn; the stainless steel cutting wheel does not touch the can's contents so it stays clean without having to wipe away messes each time you use it. For removing the lid and tossing into the wastebasket, tiny pliers on the side let you grasp the lid so your hands never come into contact with lid. For occasional and convenient cleaning, it's dishwasher-safe.

Once you figure how to put it on the can, it is great. Instructions are upside down and backwards.

I was tried of spending 10 minutes trying to open 5 cans for my Taco Soup with the traditional can opener, so with the Holidays coming up I elected to upgrade. This thing is amazing. The grib is comfortable, easy to grasp your can and the rotation during the cut is smooth all the way around. The small pliers on the side are great for removing and disposing of the lid. Terrific that the opener stays clean and doesn't require washing everytime you use it. No sharp edges for you to cut yourself on after the can is open. The only complaint (which isn't much of one) is this opener works so well that you have to play attention to where you started on your can, because you can hardly tell when the you've been all the way around. Will actually fool you into thinking the can is not yet open. Would definately buy again, although I don't think we'll need to for a long time.

This is the best can opener I think I have ever had in my kitchen. It works so effortless and smoothly. My wife has arthritis in her hands and she has no problem using it.
